Yeah, No… Yeah
That phrase. It’s colloquial. It’s Millennial. And, we all say it. It’s a common introduction to a thought or a ready reply. It’s a preamble to conviction masked in uncertainty because, really, are we ever sure about what we want? It can be decisive or second guessing. It can be uplifting, abrasive, meek or condemning in just two (or three) syllables.
Call it palindromic pathology.
Yeah No Yeah Theatre aims to unpack this cultural tick on stage, performing stories of vulnerability and how we fight against it. It’s subtext said out loud, and we like what we’re (not) hearing.
